This Hark Pro review is based on my own launch-day testing plus early reports from other testers. Short version: Hark Pro has the best onboarding and design of any AI assistant I’ve used, and it’s genuinely proactive — but it can be slow, it can’t make calls yet, and it needs deep access to your accounts. Watch my test below, then here’s the full verdict.
Key takeaways
- Overall: 7.6/10 — brilliant design and onboarding, still early.
- Best for personal admin: inbox, bookings, bills, daily planning.
- Weak spots: speed, no phone calls, privacy detail.
- It’s free to try — paid tiers only add usage.
Hark Pro review: the verdict
Hark Pro is the most polished AI assistant I’ve tested. Signing up, connecting email and getting useful suggestions took minutes. When I asked it to book an Italian restaurant, it asked the right follow-up questions and started booking one of my actual favourites. It feels like the Apple of AI agents.
But it’s version one. Some tasks take longer than doing them yourself, it can’t make phone calls yet, and you’re trusting it with real access to your accounts. Great foundations; not finished.
Hark Pro review scorecard

|---|---|---|
| Ease of setup | 9/10 | The smoothest onboarding of any agent I’ve tested |
| Design | 9/10 | Clean, Apple-style interface |
| Proactivity | 8/10 | Reads your inbox and suggests real action items |
| Speed | 6/10 | Some tasks are slower than doing them yourself |
| Capabilities | 7/10 | Bookings, bills, planning — but no phone calls yet |
| Privacy clarity | 6/10 | Needs deep account access; independent detail is thin so far |

What other testers found
Early hands-on reports back this up. A Fast Company beta test found Hark spotted an oil change in the reporter’s email and handled much of the booking, though he still had to give some details and pick a time. A Gizmodo test found its food ordering slower than doing it manually. Hark’s own design lead has said it might not be the fastest assistant, but it aims for a better result.
My experience matched: excellent at understanding what you want, slower at finishing.
Hark Pro pricing: is it worth paying for?
| Plan | Price | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Standard usage limits — enough to test everything |
| Pro tier | $20/month | 2× the usage |
| Top tier | $100/month | 10× the usage |
Start free. Only upgrade if you hit usage limits regularly — the paid tiers don’t add features, just more usage.
Hark Pro vs other AI assistants
| Assistant | Strength | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Hark Pro | Proactive, polished, life admin | Busy people who want tasks taken off their plate |
| ChatGPT Dots | OpenAI’s agent inside ChatGPT | People already living in ChatGPT |
| Meta Muse | Meta’s fast assistant | Speed and Meta’s apps |
| Hermes Agent | Open source and customisable | Builders automating a business |
I use different agents for different jobs: Hark for personal admin, Hermes and my Agent OS for business automation.
How I tested Hark Pro
I signed up on the free plan on launch day, connected my email, and gave it real tasks: booking a restaurant for two on a specific evening, building a productivity panel, setting up a project, and running “prep my day”. I also explored the integrations list, scheduled tasks and voice input. I didn’t connect payment accounts, and I stopped the restaurant booking before it completed.
That’s a first-week test, not months of use — so I’ve combined it with what other early testers reported.
Hark Pro review: what impressed me most
Two things. First, the onboarding: connect email, answer one question, and it’s already useful. Second, the proactivity. “Prep my day” checked my calendar and inbox, told me my inbox was clean, and offered to pull in sales numbers before a 4pm meeting. That’s what a real assistant does.
The panels are clever too — describing a mini-app in plain English and getting a working dashboard is the kind of thing that makes non-technical people fall in love with AI.
Hark Pro review: what needs work
Speed is the big one. Because Handoff drives a real browser on a cloud computer, some tasks take longer than doing them yourself. Phone calls aren’t supported, and voice is input only. And while Hark talks about privacy, there’s little independent detail yet on how it handles your data — which matters when it’s logging into your accounts.
Hark Pro review: final thoughts on value
For a free product, Hark Pro delivers a lot: a genuinely proactive assistant, clean design and useful panels. Most people won’t need a paid tier, since paying only raises your usage limits. The question isn’t really price — it’s whether you’re comfortable giving an assistant this much access, and whether its speed suits the tasks you have.
If you’re a busy professional drowning in small admin tasks, it’s worth a week of testing. If you’re building business automations, a customisable agent like Hermes will serve you better.
Who should use Hark Pro
Use it if you want a personal assistant for email, bookings, bills and planning, and you’re comfortable connecting your accounts. Skip it for now if speed is critical, you need phone calls, or you can’t share account access. My final Hark Pro review score: 7.6/10, and one to watch as the 2027 hardware arrives.
I’ll update this review as Hark ships improvements, especially on speed, phone calls and privacy detail, which are the three areas holding back a higher score today. If those land, Hark Pro could become the default personal assistant for a lot of people, and the 2027 hardware could make it even more useful away from a screen.
