The ChatGPT agent help article opens with one line: ChatGPT agent is no longer available. It points to ChatGPT Work for multi-step tasks, and to the cloud browser for supported browser workflows.
When it was live, agent mode ran in a virtual browser, used screenshots to see pages, paused for logins with a “Take over browser” control, and could repeat finished tasks daily, weekly or monthly. Operator had already been folded into it.

Where the work happens
